Bond Propositions A and D Approved

Nov 04, 2020 | Community Relations

Thank you for supporting Bond 2020! Our community passed the largest bond referendum in the District’s history on November 3, approving Propositions A and D at $666,810,864.

Once sold, these bond funds will be used to build a new high school, junior high and three elementary schools, purchase land and buses, renovate more than 30 campuses and provide much needed support for our students and staff through technology devices.

"We're so appreciative of the community's support for Propositions A and D, which will set our District up for continued success," said Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Randle. "Although Propositions B and C were unsuccessful, we look forward to continuing our conversations with parents, staff and the community. As one of the fastest growing school districts in Texas, a collaborative dialogue is essential. As always, we will work alongside our School Board to build schools and facilities our community will be proud of, while keeping an eye on our tax dollars."

Lamar CISD is projected to add 20,000 to 29,000 students over the next decade. Our community's commitment to public education has clearly made Lamar CISD a popular destination for families.

Again, thank you for supporting our students and the future of Lamar CISD with $666.8 million dollars in bond funds.
