Lamar CISD Board of Trustees Approve 2022 – 2023 Raises and Stipends

In Lamar CISD, we emphasize the importance of speaking life into our students and supporting them as they reach success in the classroom and beyond.

The Board of Trustees appreciates the hard work and dedication of all Lamar CISD employees and, as a result, the following raises and Special Education stipends were unanimously approved by the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees at the August 22 Board Meeting.  

 

Raises and Stipends Approved: 

  • Beginning Teacher Salary - $61,000 
  • $500 Stipend for New Teachers 
  • $500 Stipend for Returning Teachers  
    • Paid for with ESSER funds 
  • Raises for all returning staff: 
    • Flat raise of $1,950 for teachers, paid according to the Teacher Hiring Schedule (avg. 3%) 
    • 3% of midpoint raise for all other staff 

 

  • New paygrade tables with increases: 
    • Child Nutrition staff (hourly) - $3/hr. raise, plus 3% of midpoint raise  
    • Custodial staff (hourly) - $1/hr. raise, plus 3% of midpoint raise 
    • *Instructional paraprofessionals (hourly) - $1/hr. raise, plus 3% of midpoint raise 

 

  • Special Education Stipend Program: 
    • Staff in self-contained programs that were combined due to a teacher vacancy will receive an additional stipend. 
      • Paraprofessionals - $5,000 
      • Teachers - $7,000 (In addition to the $3000 already received) 
      • *Campus Administrators - $4,000 
  • All other Special Education Paraprofessionals will receive stipends as follows: 
    • Resource/inclusion - $1,000 
    • Self-contained programs - $1,500 
    • Additional Support Paraprofessionals - $5,000 
    • Deaf-Blind Interveners - $5,000 
  • All resource and inclusion teachers will receive a stipend of $2,000. 
  • Retention Stipends  
    • Speech Pathologists and ARD Specialists - $2,000 
    • Itinerant and Related Service Staff - $3,000 
    • Diagnosticians and School Psychologists - $4,000. 

*Instructional Paraprofessionals are anyone employed as a Teacher’s Aide who provides instructional support in a classroom. For a complete list of Instructional paraprofessionals, please see page 8 of the attached “2022-2023 Compensation Plan.”  


*Campus Administrator $4,000 stipend is split between Campus Principal and Assistant Principal who supervises Special Education.
