Lamar CISD Celebrates School Counseling Week Feb. 3-7

Jan 31, 2020 | Community Relations

Please join Lamar CISD in recognizing Feb. 3 - 7 as School Counselor Appreciation Week.

At its January meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a resolution declaring School Counselor Appreciation Week. The week-long event is celebrated throughout the United States and recognizes the importance of the essential role school counselors play each day on their campuses.

Counselors contribute to the development of children through guidance, counseling, consultation, coordination, assessment and program management. They are vital in understanding and responding to student behavior and work with parents, teachers, administrators and the community to optimize learning and best provide for their students.
