Lamar CISD is home to four of the only 139 Outstanding Student Councils in Texas.
Each year the National Association of Elementary School Principals recognizes outstanding elementary and middle school student councils throughout the nation.This year the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association is celebrating 139 NAESP Student Council Excellence Award recipients.
Dickinson is celebrating its seventh Excellence Award, while Adolphus and Frost elementary schools both earned their second award. Williams Elementary is receiving its first time on the Excellence Award list.
Each year NAESP recognizes the outstanding efforts of student councils from across the country with the Student Council Excellence Award. This prestigious award has honored excellence in leadership, citizenship and community service since 1987.
