At its March meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a resolution declaring Public School Volunteer Appreciation Week. The week-long event is celebrated throughout the District and calls attention to the value of the many volunteers in our public schools.
Parent and family involvement in children’s lives is critical to their success as children and adults. Volunteering is one of the most important aspects of parent involvement in the public school setting.
Volunteers are invaluable to our schools, teachers and students by helping them greatly extend and increase their resources. Public School Volunteer Appreciation Week gives our District another opportunity to show appreciation for the service that our volunteers provide.
