Enrollment and Transfers

As a public school system, we welcome all students who live within the district's boundaries and meet state age and health requirements. For specific enrollment information, please get in touch with your child's school. If you need to find out which school your child will attend, please use the School Finder to look up the attendance boundaries for your address. 

 

Students new to LCISD for the 2025-2026 school year can register at the times / dates / locations listed below:

 

April 22 – May 2: Pre-K and Kindergarten Roundup – Students will register at their home campus.

  • Students zoned to attend Fagert Elementary or Haygood Elementary in Fall 2025 will register at their nearest campus.

 

May 27 – June 12: Pre-K through Grade 5 – Students will register at their home campus.

  • Students zoned to attend Fagert Elementary or Haygood Elementary in Fall 2025 will register at their nearest campus.

 

June 16 – July 17: For All Grade Levels and Campuses – Central Registration at the Foster High School Orchestra Room

Location: 4400 FM 723, Richmond, TX 77406 (North side of campus near auditorium – see map)

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

July 24 – August 7: All Grade Levels – Students will register at their home campus.

Enrollment

  • Collect the following required documentation for each student.

    • Proof of Residency: Closing documents or lease agreement or current fixed utility bill (gas, water, or electric) in parent/guardian’s name with an address in Lamar CISD.
    • A copy of parent/guardian government-issued ID
    • Student Birth Certificate or Record of Birth or Passport
    • A copy of the student's Social Security Card (if available)
    • Student Immunization Record
      • If you would like your child to be exempted from school immunization requirements, review the process for obtaining the necessary affidavit by clicking here.
    • Academic Records from previous school -- most recent transcript or report card (depending on grade level)

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Presenting false information or false records for enrollment is considered a criminal offense under Texas Penal Code 37.10 and could result in both criminal charges and liability for tuition expenses under Texas Education Code 24.001(h).

  • How old does my child have to be to enroll in Kindergarten?

    For Kindergarten, a student must be 5 years or older on September 1 of the school year in which they start.
