Lamar CISD posts Superior Achievement in Financial Integrity System

For the 12th consecutive year, Lamar CISD earned the “Superior Achievement” rating from the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). 

FIRST looks at 20 separate indicators, including fiscal responsibility, budgeting, personnel and cash management. Lamar CISD received the highest possible score on all indicators, giving the District a perfect score.

The system is designed to encourage Texas public schools to manage their financial resources better in order to provide the most dollars possible for instructional purposes. The system also discloses the quality of local management and decision-making processes that impact the allocation of financial resources in Texas public schools.

The ratings of school districts can be viewed on the Texas Education Agency (TEA) web site.

Jill Ludwig is the Chief Financial Officer for Lamar CISD, Yvonne Dawson is the Budget and Treasury Officer and Michele Reynolds is the Director of Accounting.
