The Briscoe 7A football team hosted El Campo and cruised to a 38-13 win to open the season. Scoring for the Eagles were Mario Simmons on TD runs of 70 yards, 25 yards, and 40 yards. Adding to the scoring was Kobe Bean catching a 12 yard TD pass from Ryan Stubblefield, Zach Hopper on a 35 yard TD pass and an extra point conversion pass, both from Stubblefield. Stubblefield also added an extra point conversion. Other offensive players of the game were Jayden Oliver, Jacob Perry, Jared Williams and Marcello Spano. Defensive leaders of the game were Ricky Rich , Sebastian Garcia (who recorded an INT), DeAundre Hicks, Chidozie Nwankwo (recovering a fumble for a TD), Cody Beckworth, and Chase Albright. 7A moves to 1-0 on the season.
The 7B Eagles tied El Campo 6-6 Tuesday night. Dasoni Frasier had a 70 yard kick return for Briscoe's only score. Jalen Ross had a fumble recovery. Other players of the game were Jeremy Orizu, Nicholas McFarlane, Shermar Jones, and Juan Bryan.
The Briscoe Eagles 8th grade B team defeated the El Campo Ricebirds by a score of 28-8. The Eagles scored on an 8 yard pass from Jacob Flores to Nathan Wilson with Le'Jai Jones converting the extra point. Shadeed Ahmed added a pair of 25 yard touchdown runs with Le'Jai Jones and Jacob Flores adding the extra points. Closing the scoring for the Eagles was La'Jai Jones on a 50 yard TD run and the extra point conversion was added on a Keaton Huebner to Garrett Taysom pass. Defensive leaders for the Eagles were Keaton Huebner, Ethan Williamson, and Israel Floyd.
The Briscoe Eagles 8th grade A team defeated El Campo by a score of 6-0. Scoring on offense for the Eagles was Chip Barillas on a 9 yard touchdown run. Defensive leaders for the Eagles were Jacob McCune who had an interception, Gio Juarez, Cortland Adams, and Jace Jackson.
