Astronotes for January 6, 2016

Jan 06, 2016 | Bud Whileyman

I hope everyone had a great holiday break!  I think the teachers and students enjoyed the much-needed time off.  Now it is time to gear it back up and get
refocused on the academics.  The end of the 2nd 9-weeks is Friday, January 15th.  Students will not have to wear uniform dress since it is the last day of the 9-weeks.

January 15, 2016 is also a big day for Austin Elementary as we have scheduled our 25 year celebration.  The celebration will be next Friday at 1:00 pm in the gym.  The time capsule and its contents that were buried 25 years ago by the first group of Austin Astronauts will be on display for all to see.  We will do a little reminiscing about the 1990-1991 school year.  Sharing of all the many events that highlighted that time period will be presented.  Our choir will be performing some special songs commemorating the first school year at Austin Elementary.  Judy Vernon, the original principal at Austin will be the guest speaker.  We look forward to seeing many of the past staff and students to help us in honoring our school’s 25 years of excellence.
