The Briscoe 8th Grade A boys basketball team won its eighth game of the season and the District Championship with a 62-53 victory over Reading JH. Leading scorers for the game were Ruben Fatheree with 33 points, Jacobi Williams with 14 points, and Richard La Mothe with 7 points. Also adding to the score was Will Lewis and Demari Williams with 4 points each. Defensive leaders of the game were William Lewis, Reuben Fatheree, and Jacobi Williams. The Briscoe Eagles 8th grade A Team finishes the season 8-0 and district champions.

The Briscoe Lady Eagles 8th Grade A team pulled out a great team win against Reading Jr. High 36-24. Scoring for the Lady Eagles were Alicia Blanton with 17 points, Gabrielle Hamilton with 8 points, Jenay Garcia with 6 points, Amanda Allen with 3 points, and Mya Tipton with 2 points. Defensive player of the game were Rayne Althaus, Yamila Mello, and Marin Stephan. The Lady Eagles finished the season undefeated with an 8-0 record and district champions.
