Research shows that healthy children do better in school - from attendance and behavior to academics and overall performance. The Lamar CISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) works with the district to help school communities support good health and academic achievement.
SHAC is a state-mandated advisory council appointed by the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees. It is made up of parents, community members, students, and school staff working together to improve the health of all students and families through coordinated school health programs.
Lamar CISD is seeking interested parents and community members to participate on SHAC. SHAC meets four times each year to discuss a variety of topics relating to coordinated school health. The remaining 2014-2015 SHAC meetings will be Nov. 11, 2014, and Feb. 10, 2015 andApril 14, 2015. All meetings are from 9 - 11 a.m. in the Lamar CISD Administration Building.
