In response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation in Fort Bend County, and to prevent community spread of the virus, Lamar CISD is initiating modified business operations through April 10, 2020.
During modified business operations, Lamar CISD remains committed to our students’ success, and will continue to meet the needs of students at a distance. This includes continuing and remote instruction, which begins Monday, March 23, 2020.
We realize no amount of remote education can replace the in-person care and instruction our teachers provide. However, we ask for your patience as we are all likely to adjust over the coming weeks in order to best serve the needs of our students during these unprecedented circumstances.
By Wednesday, March 25, you will receive information from your students’ teachers about lessons and remote learning during the school closure and modified business operations. Until then, we’re encouraging families to continue to access District programs and digital resources available through ClassLink.
Please visit the District’s updated COVID-19 webpage for specific portals for families and staff during modified business operations. The webpage has updated information including student remote learning expectations, teacher support and virtual office hours.
We understand that not every family has access to the internet or a smart device (computer, laptop, smart phone, iPad, etc.). We are prepared to work with families that need additional support. If your family needs assistance accessing these resources, please contact your campus principal by email.
Over the coming weeks, Lamar CISD will continue to work with our local health officials and provide updates to the community via email, the District website and social media.
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work together to keep the Lamar CISD community safe.
