The COVID-19 situation is evolving daily and the Greater Houston area continues to see an increasing number of confirmed cases of COVID-19.
As a result, all Lamar CISD campuses and facilities will remain closed through May 1, 2020 in an effort to support the nation’s need to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, all travel, events and extracurricular activities are canceled through May 1. This decision is in alignment with Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order announced today.
While Lamar CISD campuses and facilities remain closed to the public, the District will continue with modified business operations and remote instruction for students. Student meals will also be provided Monday through Friday for children 18 and under until the service is no longer needed.
We understand this has been a challenging time for the Lamar CISD community. However, our priority will always be to protect the health and well-being of our students, staff and community.
We’re encouraging all families to continue to be proactive in reducing the risk of COVID-19 by following the Fort Bend County Stay-at-Home Order, we well as CDC recommendations on hand washing and social distancing.
Please continue to check the Lamar CISD COVID-19 Update portals for families and staff. Updated information and resources are being added to the sites on a regular basis.
We appreciate your ongoing support and patience as we work together to keep the Lamar CISD community safe.
