The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International has awarded Lamar CISD its Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award for having met or exceeded the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability.
The district was recognized for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending 2014. The is the 15th straight year Lamar CISD has received this distinction.
The Certificate of Excellence (COE) award confirms the school business office’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency. Recognition through the COE program can help strengthen a district’s presentation for bond issuance statements and promotes a high level of financial reporting.
“As the only award program specifically designed for school district financial reporting, the COE represents a significant achievement and reflects a high level of commitment to fiscal integrity,” ASBO’s Executive Director, John Musso said in a letter to Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Randle. “To receive the award, the district must satisfy specific guidelines for effective, high-quality financial reporting recognized by school business officials.”
