The U.S. Army has drafted Terry High principal Vera Wehring.

Wehring is one of only 15 principals in the United States selected by the Army and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) to attend the inaugural leadership and professional development in Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

The symposium will be held November 13-15, at one of the Army’s premier leadership training institutions. Wehring was invited because of her “demonstrated leadership capacity.”

NASSP has been working with the Army to design this symposium by taking advantage of NASSP’s and the Army’s leadership development expertise. he symposium will feature hands-on exercises, collaborative discussion, and interaction with principals, the NASSP and Army education and leader development personnel.

Terry assistant principal Amy Araguz will accompany Wehring on her trip to Kansas. The Army is picking up the tab for travel and accommodations.
