During the Aug. 15 regular meeting, the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees approved the proposed tax rate and 2019-2020 staff compensation plan that includes an approximate 5 percent pay increase for all returning Lamar CISD employees.

The approved Maintenance and Operations (M&O) tax rate for 2019-2020 is $0.97 and the Interest and Sinking (I&S) tax rate is $0.35, bringing the total Lamar CISD tax rate to $1.32 per $100 of taxable value.

The 2019-2020 compensation plan includes an increase of $3,000 for all returning teachers with five years or less of experience and an increase of $3,500 for all teachers with six or more years of experience. Non-instructional staff will receive a 5 percent midpoint increase based on pay grade.

“In Lamar CISD, we value our employees and we’re proud to invest in our talented staff,” said Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Randle. “We’re also grateful for the continued support of our School Board which prioritizes retaining quality teachers and staff."
