Lamar CISD Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 15 - Oct. 15

Sep 15, 2021 | Community Relations
Please join Lamar CISD in recognizing Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month.

At its August meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a resolution declaring Hispanic Heritage Month. The month-long celebration was originally designated by presidential proclamation as the month to recognize the rich heritage of Hispanic Americans and the many contributions made to American culture.

Sept. 15 is the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries—Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico declared its independence on Sept.16 and Chile on Sept. 18.
