Melendez is principal at Hutchison; 3 Asst. Principals also hired

melendez Mark Melendez is the new principal at Hutchison Elementary. He is a graduate of Texas A&I University and received his master’s degree from Troy State University.

A U.S. Army veteran, Melendez has 15 years of experience in education, including service as a teacher and assistant principal in Georgia. He taught at Campbell Elementary prior to becoming the assistant principal at Smith Elementary. He became principal at Smith in 2008.

 Jennifer Roberts is Lamar CISD’s new Director of Student Support Services. She is ajenniferRoberts graduate of Colorado College, received her master’s  degree from the University of Houston-Victoria and earned her doctorate from Texas Southern University.

She has nine years of experience in education and 12 years of experience in the private sector. Roberts is currently a counselor at Foster High School.

 Joel Garrett will serve as an assistant principal at Terry High JoelGarrettSchool. A graduate of Texas A&M University, Garrett received his master’s degree from Lamar University.

He has eight years of experience in education including seven years of teaching in Mansfield ISD and one year as an assistant principal in Arlington ISD.

 Kimberly Johnson is the new assistant principal at George Ranch High School. She is a graduate of the University of TexasKimberlyJohnson and has earned two master’s degrees from the University of Phoenix.

She has seven years of experience in education in Lamar CISD,Katy ISD, Louisiana and Virginia. Johnson taught at Morton Ranch High School prior to coming to George Ranch.

 Terri Rodriguez is the new assistant principal at Beasley Elementary. A graduate terriRodriguezof Houston Baptist and she also has her master’s degree from HBU. She has 18 years of experience in education including 11 years of teaching and seven years as an ESL Facilitator, all in Fort Bend ISD.
