Croft Selected as First Principal of Maxine Phelan Elementary

Kevin Croft has been selected as the first principal of Maxine Phelan Elementary, scheduled to open in the fall of 2022.

Croft received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. Croft has served as a beloved member of our Lamar CISD family for over 10 years and currently serves as the principal of Polly Ryon Middle School.

Prior to being named principal, Croft served as an assistant principal and English teacher at George Ranch High School. Before joining our District, Croft also taught in Junction ISD.

As a graduate of the Holdsworth Leadership Program, Croft excels in building trusting relationships and cultivating a collaborative campus culture from the ground up. He brings an upbeat and fun element to learning and understands the importance of always putting students first. He has the highest expectations for his students and staff and is the first to hold them accountable.

He believes in interactive and rigorous learning and is known for his ability to keep his students engaged consistently. Croft’s passion for education and serving others is evident in all that he does and Lamar CISD is excited to see the great things that he will bring to Phelan Elementary.
