Lamar CISD Celebrates School Board Recognition Month

Jan 15, 2025, 13:00 by Lamar CISD Communications

December January 15, 2024 – Rosenberg, Texas – Lamar CISD is proud to join communities across Texas in celebrating January 2025 as School Board Recognition Month. This annual observance honors the dedicated service of school board members who play a vital role in shaping the future of education.

This year’s theme, “Leadership for Tomorrow’s Texas,” highlights the tireless efforts of school board members who serve as advocates for students, ensuring that Lamar CISD provides high-quality educational opportunities for every child.

“Strong schools require strong leadership, and our school board exemplifies that every day," Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens said. “They are committed to making decisions that put students first and strengthen our community.”

The Lamar CISD Board of Trustees works closely with parents, educators, and community members to establish a shared vision for the district. From overseeing policies and budgets to supporting innovative programs, these elected officials strive to ensure that every decision reflects the best interests of students and the community.

“Our school board members are true advocates for public education," Dr. Nivens said. “They work behind the scenes to ensure resources, policies, and opportunities align with the best interests of every child. I am grateful to work alongside a board that leads with purpose, integrity, and a deep commitment to excellence.”

The current Lamar CISD Board of Trustees members include:

  • Zach Lambert – President, District 1
  • Jacci Hotzel – Vice President, District 4
  • Jon Welch – Secretary, District 5
  • Mandi Bronsell – District 3
