The instructors and cadets of Lamar Consolidated High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC recently earned an overall unit assessment score of “Exceeds Standards,” the highest rating attainable by a JROTC program.
The unit received the designation based on a formal Unit Evaluation on Dec. 4.
Maj. Jeffrey M. Shelton and Senior Master Sgt. Jeffrey T. Moffet have created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with an excellent community outreach.
The school received word from the Department of the Air Force that:
• The instructors provide outstanding leadership in administering the cadet-centered citizenship program;
• The Lamar Consolidated High School cadets performed exceptionally well and took great pride in leading and accomplishing their unit goals; and
• The Lamar Consolidated High School Air Force ROTC citizenship program is making a positive impact on the cadets, the school and the community.
