GT Facilitator
Mrs. Susan Patterson, M.Ed.

I am delighted to be the Gifted and Talented Facilitator for both Huggins Elementary, Lindsey Elementary and for Kindergarten at Campbell Elementary!  When working with any student, I believe in using every teachable moment to enhance their abilities, increase their engagement level, and stimulate their creative juices.  Please feel free to call or email me any time, or even stop by for a glimpse into our world. In my personal life, I love to swim, read and take care of my numerous canine pets! I have two teenage daughters and a wonderful, supportive husband. As you may have noticed from my greeting, I am an Aggie through and through—Whoop.

GT Nominations

To nominate a student for the elementary Lamar CISD GT Program, a nomination form must be filled out & returned; nomination forms are accepted year round.  This form can be accessed by clicking on the link on the bottom of this page or picking one up in the front office.  The nomination window for this year closes on December 21, 2018 & screening will be available in the January.  Kindergarten students do not need to be nominated, as every student is screened for the program.   Kinder parents will be notified this year of their child's results by the first week of March. First through 4th grade students already identified as Gifted & Talented do not need to be reassessed.   Fifth graders, including current GT students interested in participating in the 6th grade GT Program DO need to be nominated since it is LCISD's policy to re-screen all GT fifth graders for the secondary program.  The GT Program serves students who have an educational need for specialized services.  The program includes placement with a classroom teacher trained in gifted education.
