Jones, Marrero named assistant principals

Lamar CISD’s Board of Trustees approved the hiring of two new assistant principals at the regular February meeting.

Keschia Jones is the new assistant principal at Terry High School. A graduate of the University of Houston, Jones has her master’s from the University of Houston at Victoria.

Jones has 18 years of experience in education, including teaching in Houston ISD and teaching and serving as a bilingual/ESL specialist in Alief ISD.

Maria Marrero is the new assistant principal at Smith Elementary. A graduate of the University of Houston and she has her master’s from Lamar University.

Marrero has 13 years of experience in education, as a teacher, team leader, instructional leader and instructional coordinator, all in Katy ISD.
