Oct 25, 2021 | Community Relations

Lamar CISD would like to congratulate all of our marching bands for a successful marching season! This past weekend, the Lamar Consolidated High School Band finished 11th out of 18 and the Terry High School Band finished 12th out of 18 at the UIL 5A Area E Marching Contest Prelims.

The District extends its congratulations to the Foster High School Band for a second place finish in the UIL 5A Area E Marching Band Contest Finals and the Fulshear High School Band for a third place finish at the UIL 5A Area E Marching Band Contest Finals this past weekend in Katy.

Foster and Fulshear will now advance to the UIL 5A State Marching Band Contest Prelims on Nov. 1, 2021 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. This will be the fifth time in school history for Foster High School to advance to State, and the second time in school history for Fulshear High School to advance to State. This is the first time for Lamar CISD to advance two bands to the UIL State Marching Band Contest in the same year. Thirty-three bands from across the State of Texas qualified for the 2021 UIL 5A State Marching Band Contest. The top 12 scoring bands in 5A Prelims will advance to 5A Finals on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
