In a growing school system, the district’s attendance zones will inevitably change to accommodate the growth. As a hypergrowth district, we are experiencing significant enrollment increases in some areas. As a result, some schools are over capacity while others have available capacity. The Board may consider leveling plans to balance student enrollment across campuses and alleviate overcrowding.   The district’s process is to collect feedback from community stakeholders regarding attendance boundary options. We specifically look to include parents from the potentially impacted campuses/areas. 

We appreciate everyone who provided input during the attendance boundary committee meetings and the leveling process.

The Lamar CISD Board of Trustees has approved new attendance zones that will impact Campbell, Carter, Dickinson, Hutchison, Velasquez, and Williams Elementary Schools, which will go into effect for the 2024-2025 school year.

En un sistema escolar en crecimiento, las zonas de asistencia del distrito cambiarán inevitablemente para adaptarse a este aumento. Como distrito de hipercrecimiento, estamos experimentando aumentos significativos de inscripciones en algunas zonas. Como resultado, algunas escuelas se encuentran por encima de su capacidad mientras que otras tienen capacidad disponible. La Mesa Directiva podría contemplar planes de nivelación para equilibrar las inscripciones de estudiantes en todos los campus y reducir la sobrepoblación.   El proceso del distrito consiste en recabar opiniones de las partes interesadas en la comunidad en relación a las opciones de límites de asistencia. Específicamente buscamos incluir a los padres de los campus/áreas que potencialmente se vean afectados.

Please remember that Canvas is now available for all elementary students. All guardians in Skyward that have access to the Skyward Family Access Center automatically have a Canvas account. Your email address listed in Skyward will be your username for Canvas. That account is automatically linked to all of your children in LCISD!

School uniforms

Students at Williams Elementary are required to wear uniforms. 

Bottoms: Khaki, black, dark blue pants, or blue denim jeans, capris, shorts, skirts, skorts or jumpers.

Shirts: Red, navy blue, white, or black collared polo style shirt. School spirit shirts can be worn any day of the week.

The school opens at 7:00 AM. Learning opportunities begin when the students enter the building.

Breakfast is available from 7:00-7:45 AM, and students are tardy if they are not through the doors by 7:45 AM.

Students are dismissed at 3:10 PM.

Transportation

Transportation changes must be submitted to the front office before 2:00 p.m.  Transportation changes must be submitted by phone.  Email or voicemail are not permitted for making transportation changes.
