George Ranch High School’s Longhorn Players will travel to Scotland, Aug. 1-14, to perform in the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF).
Only 40 schools from across the United States have a chance to take the stage at the prestigious performance venue in Edinburgh, Scotland. The AHSTF is held in conjunction with the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the world's largest theatre festival. The Fringe Festival hosts more than 2,000 plays from around the world every year during the month of August.
In order to perform at the American High School Theatre Festival, the George Ranch High program was judged on rigorous criteria, comparing it with high schools from across the United States. The Longhorn Players will perform “The Laramie Project” four times during the Festival.
The Longhorn Players will present their award-winning show Sept. 3 and 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the George Ranch High School Auditorium. Tickets will be $3 for students and $5 for adults.
The cast includes Arnold Alaniz, Nickolas Buchanan, Rachel Buchanan, Christian Cardwell, Averi Cervantez, Declan Dea, Bailor Erdeljac, Emma Glose, Jack Greene, Haley Keating, Eric May, Lindsie McNair, Rebecca Mullen, Katriana Nossa, Kristen Olmsted, Reid Pitts and Sierra Rozen.
Emma Glose is the stage manager and George Ranch High School theater teachers Rebecca C. Walters and L Jay Edenmeyer are the directors.
