2024-2025 Course Selection Information

Counselors will meet with students to review their endorsements and future course selection in the spring of each year.  Please plan on reviewing the documents below as well as attending the preview night to help with these decisions.

The most updated copy of the Course Selection Guide and Endorsement Flowcharts can be found here.

Calendar of Course Selection Events:

October 1st: Parent Course Selection Preview Night @ 6:00pm

October 15th: Online course selection OPENS in Skyward.

October 17th – October 29th: Counselors will go into advisories classrooms to answer questions about course selection.

October 30th -31st: Counselors will be at the cafeteria during lunches to answer questions about course selection.

October 31st at 5:00 pm: Online course selection CLOSES!

November 4th - 21st: Counselors will complete course verifications and send out to students. If you have not completed your courses at this time, counselors will pick for you!

December 2nd - 3rd: Course Verifications will be send out to you for changes. If you need to make a change, please submit the completed form to the counselors office by December 9th. (room 2327)

Testing Information - Here you will find information on the STAAR End of Course graduation exams, PSAT, ACT, SAT and AP testing offered in high school.

Graduation/Course Information - This link will take you to the district information regarding graduation requirements, along with course and endorsement options offered in LCISD.

Family Access - This program gives parents and students the ability to track grades and attendance from your own computer/phone.  We recommend students log in to this system AT LEAST once a week to make sure they stay on top of all work in their classes.

Khan Academy - Khan Academy offers FREE tutoring for English, Math, Science, and Social Studies courses.  They also provide free test prep for the SAT test (which should be taken by everyone in the spring of their junior year).

ACT Test Information - Register for the ACT test here (spring of junior year)


College Board SAT/AP Information - Register for the SAT test, check PSAT/AP/SAT results, conduct college/scholarship searches....the list goes on and on!  Save your log-in information because you will need it all throughout high school.  If you have not yet created an account, now is the time to do so!
