All 7th and 8th grade students interested in major sports must complete online RankOne Sport forms and turn in a 2023-2024 sports physical. All forms can be found below.
Briscoe Athletics
The coaching staff here at Briscoe Jr High is excited and thrilled to have the opportunity to coach your son/daughter for the 2023-24 school year. We will strive to make this year an enjoyable learning experience. Below is some information that will assist you as you begin your journey into Eagle Athletics:
1) The athlete MUST have a Physical Exam on file with us and UIL Online Medical History forms in Rank One complete to be able to tryout. The detailed info can be found on the LCISD website. It is a UIL requirement that your child has the required forms completed in order to participate in athletics.
2) Tryouts for volleyball and football practice will begin the first week of school. Football questions please contact Coach Bristol. Volleyball questions please contact Coach Knesek. (ALL grades will practice before school) Volleyball tryouts will begin August 16th from 7:30-9am.
3) For volleyball tryouts, please come dressed in athletic clothing (t-shirt & shorts), knee pads if you wish, court shoes, outdoor running shoes and your own water bottle with name clearly on it. If you plan to purchase kneepads, please try to purchase them in black as that is our team preference. Football will issue gear the first week of school.
4) All 7th and 8th grade students interested in major sports must complete online RankOne Sport forms and turn in a 2023-2024 sports physical by August 16, 2023. All forms can be found on the Briscoe website-http://www.lcisd.org/campuses/briscoejh/home
5) Cross Country will begin the second week of school during the athletic period. Must be signed up and be in the athletic period. Please contact Coach Herring (pherring@lcisd.org) if you have any questions.

Football/Volleyball Equipment Check Out- First week of school
- Students will be issued athletic equipment
- (7thGrade) Coaches will collect a copy of student’s birth certificate
- (8thGrade) Coaches will collect a current utility bill
- 8thgrade studentsnew to the district, campus, or the athletic programwill need to bring a copy of your birth certificate and a current utility bill to turn into the coaches.
- Students will receive a flyer to be able to purchase athletic clothes

- August 16th, 1stday of tryouts- 7:30am-9am

- After school/before school football practice will begin the second week of school.

It is a UIL/TEA/LCISD requirement that your child has the required forms completed in order to be able to play football, tryout for volleyball, or be enrolled in Major Sports.
