Lamar CISD has completed implementation of the SMART tag system for all students.
To pilot the system and ensure quality of the real-time data, Lamar CISD implemented the SMART tag system in phases, beginning first with Transportation staff, then campuses and finally with parent access. All parents can now register for the Parent Portal to receive text alerts, view a live map of their child's bus and more.
SMART tag will help increase safety and security for students riding our school buses and will provide live monitoring of student loading and unloading to keep Transportation, school administrators and parents informed. SMART tag also integrates with other Lamar CISD systems and allows students to use their badges in the cafeteria and to check out books in the library.
