Pre-K

2020 LCISD Bilingual/ESL Virtual Summer School Program for Current Pre-K and K English Learners

LCISD will be offering a virtual summer school program for current eligible Pre-K and Kindergarten English learners who will be entering either kindergarten or first grade in the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. 

 This program will help your child to continue in his/her development of English language proficiency, literacy and academic skills needed for success in school.

The virtual summer school program will be held from July 6, 2020 to July 29,2020. Virtual classes and teachers support will be offered from Monday through Friday.

Students who enroll and participate the virtual summer school program will receive online instruction from certified ESL or Bilingual teachers and access to online daily activities and take-home resources.

Please complete the following survey to register your child for them to participate in the virtual summer school program. Online registration window will be open from June 2- June 15, 2020. Registration is closed.

Programa de la Escuela de Verano Virtual de LCISD 2020 para estudiantes que aprenden inglés como Segundo Idioma (ESL) y estudiantes Bilingües de Prekínder y Kindergarten

LCISD ofrecerá un programa virtual de escuela de verano para estudiantes de Prekínder y Kindergarten que ingresen al Kindergarten o al Primer grado para el ciclo escolar 2020-2021.

El programa ayudará a su hijo a continuar desarrollando aptitudes en el idioma inglés, y en la alfabetización, y le brindará las habilidades académicas necesarias para tener éxito en la escuela.

El programa virtual de la escuela de verano se llevará a cabo del 6 al 29 de julio de 2020.

Las clases virtuales con apoyo de profesores se ofrecerán de lunes a viernes.

Los estudiantes que se inscriban y participen en el programa virtual de la escuela de verano recibirán instrucción en línea con maestros certificados ESL o bilingües y tendrán acceso a actividades diarias en línea y recursos para llevar a casa.

Por favor complete la siguiente encuesta para inscribir a su hijo/a en la lista de estudiantes al programa virtual de la escuela de verano. Las inscripciones en línea estarán abiertas del 2 de junio al 15 de junio del 2020. Inscripción está cerrada.

 

Secondary

Middle School (6) and Junior High Summer (7-8) Programs

Session 1 & 2 for Credit Restoration for 6th, 7th, 8th Graders

The sessions are for students who have failed core content classes (ELA, Writing, Math, Science, or History). Middle School and Junior High School students will be enrolled in the required summer school courses by their school counselors. The school counselors will notify parents and students that they are required to attend summer school and provide all necessary information pertaining to the summer school courses through Edgenuity. High School Summer Programs

Initial Credit and Credit Restoration Classes

High school students (including incoming 9th graders) will need to self-register online through Family Access in Skyward and pay for original credit courses online using GoFan (no fees for credit restoration courses). The Skyward registration platform is ready and students may register for courses starting May 28 through June 12. High school counselors will verify and approve student course enrollment.

Session #1 and #2 – Summer School for Original Credit and Credit Restoration

Registration Dates: May 28 – June 12, 2020

Online Registration is required for both initial credit & credit recovery courses through Family Access. Initial credit courses are available to 8th-12th graders and must be paid in full by June 28, 2020.

  • Session #1 will be held Monday, June 29th through Tuesday, July 14, 2020 – virtual courses through Edgenuity.
  • Session #2 will be held Wednesday, July 15th through Thursday, July 30, 2020 – virtual courses through Edgenuity.

High School Summer School Registration and Payment Instructions

Payments must be made by June 28, 2020. All payments must be received in full by June 28 or the student will be dropped from the course (this only applies to initial credit courses).

Dual Credit Information

LCISD will be offering Dual Credit Government, Psychology, and Sociology courses this summer in partnership with Lone Star College. This opportunity is available for students at all five of our high schools. The courses will be online taught through Lone Star College and facilitated by a certified LCISD teacher.

  • Each course is $73. Please contact your Dual Credit Counselor for more information about the program.

Out of District & Non-LCISD Students

Students who live outside of the LCISD school zones are considered out of district and will need to pay out of district course fees. Students who do not attend LCISD but live within LCISD school zones qualify for in district course fees. Any students who has never been enrolled in a LCISD school will need to enroll before registering for summer courses. Please contact the summer Registrars for enrollment information at k-12newstudentenrollment@lcisd.org.
