Lamar CISD Superintendent Search

Update – At a Special Board Meeting on Tuesday, April 6, the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees announced Dr. Roosevelt Nivens as the "lone finalist" to serve as the district's next superintendent. The board's announcement follows an extensive, nationwide search lasting several months. The search process included gathering input from community stakeholders, which was used to develop a candidate profile that was nationally advertised. Read more about Dr. Nivens here.

After 20 successful years in the District, Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Randle announced his retirement on Oct. 15, 2020. Read the full announcement here.

The Lamar CISD Board of Trustees has selected JG Consulting to serve as the firm to lead the superintendent search process.

The Lamar CISD Board is committed to a transparent process that encourages feedback from everyone in the community. As part of this process, the Board is seeking input on the qualities the community would like to see in the next superintendent. Parents, staff, students and community members can share their input through the survey below:

The community was also invited to share its input at three in-person town hall meetings in January 2021.

These town hall meetings were held at the following locations:

  • George Ranch High School – Thursday, Jan. 7, 6:30 p.m. (View town hall meeting HERE)
