Lamar CISD Supported Digital Tools

Lamar CISD has a variety of digital resources available to our students and staff. As you work with your students online, use the Lamar CISD Tools to Use lists. These lists contain resources that have been vetted and are supported by our district. Protecting and educating our students are top priorities as we guide them as they grow up in the digital age.

Below are some of the more frequently used programs with a brief description.

 

These first tools are essential to everyday learning in our district, and help address the Technology Application TEKS curriculum. Students will be accessing these tools often.

  • The icon for ClassLink

     

    What it is: 

    ClassLink is a single sign-on (SSO) platform that provides quick and easy access to all district-approved apps and digital resources. With one login, students and staff can seamlessly access the tools they need for learning and productivity.

    How to access:

    • Go to ClassLink Login
    • Use your district-provided credentials to log in
    • Click on the app icons to launch resources

  • The Canvas icon in ClassLink

     

    What it is:  

    Canvas is our learning management system (LMS) where students and teachers engage in digital coursework, assignments, and discussions. Parents can also view student progress through Observer accounts.

    How to access: 

    • Visit Canvas Login Page
    • To Log in:
      • Staff: Log in using district credentials
      • Students: Log in using district-provided credentials
      • Parents: Family Access email and password set up with Canvas.
    • Use the Dashboard to access courses, assignments, and announcements

  • The Microsoft 365 icon in ClassLink

    What it is:

    Microsoft 365 provides students and staff with the basic productivity and creation applications necessary to get work done in the modern world. It includes applications like Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, and OneDrive, just to name a few. 

    How to access:

    • Staff and Students: Access Microsoft 365 through Classlink.
    • Parents do not have a Microsoft 365 account with the district.

    How to login:

    • Login through Classlink.

  • The Schoolinks icon in ClassLink

    What it is:

    Available for students in grades 6-12, SchooLinks is an interactive college and career readiness platform that assists in navigating the journey of college and career planning. The platform also includes scholarship matching and searches, recording of service hours, college applications, transcript requests, and more.

  • The Skyward icon in ClassLink

     

    What it is:

    Skyward Family Access allows parents, students, and staff to track attendance, grades, schedules, and more. It’s the go-to tool for staying informed about academic progress.

    How to Access:

    • Click to Login to Skyward
    • Log in with your district-provided credentials
    • Navigate through the menu to check grades, attendance, and schedules

    What it is:

    ParentSquare is a unified communication platform designed for schools and districts to improve communication and engagement between schools, teachers, parents, and students, offering features like messaging, notifications, and event management, all in one place.

    How to Access:

Tools Supporting Reteach, Extension, Productivity, and Creativity

This list of tools will help students with reteach, extension, productivity, and creativity. They are all accessible through Classlink.

  • The Adobe Creative Cloud icon in ClassLink

    What it is:

    Adobe Express is an online and mobile design app. Easily create stunning social media and informational graphics or flyers, short videos, and web pages.

  • The Beanstack icon in ClassLink

    What it is:

    Beanstack a tool for students to track their reading minutes and books read. Students can also complete activity badges, reading challenges, and give book reviews. Available for grades PK-6.

  • The Canva icon in ClassLink

    What it is:

    Canva is a design tool that lets you create graphics, photos, videos, and more. It’s platform is designed to support first-time users as well as seasoned media creators.

  • The Follet-Destiny Discoveryicon in ClassLink

     

    What it is:

    Destiny Discover allows users to search and access their school’s library collection, including print and digital resources such as ebooks, audiobooks, and more. Users can find and check out resources online.

  • The Library Databases folder icon in ClassLink

     

    What it is:

    Many databases are available to student in the Library Resources Folder.These databases are ready to use for research and fact-finding purposes as well as enjoyment of reading. All of these resources have been vetted and are safe for students.

  • The Progress LEarning icon in ClassLink

    What it is:

    Progress Learning is a standards-aligned online learning platform purchased by the district to support students K-12. Resources are available for all 4 core content areas.

    What it is:

    TypingClub is an online, game-based tool that teaches students the most effective way to type. Available for students in grades K-6.
