The Office of Communications works collaboratively with Lamar CISD campuses and departments to provide the necessary internal support that cultivates effective organizational communication, while developing and maintaining external communication platforms that build relationships centered on trust and transparency with our stakeholders.
The department directs and manages all district communications and public relations functions, ensuring strategies align with the district’s values and goals. The department also designs and produces communication pieces, including press releases, brochures, videos, flyers, digital media, and social media content.
The objective of this department is to build community support and to promote the school district.
How do I receive communication from my student(s) campus?
All campuses use ParentSquare to inform parents and guardians for daily communication. In the event of a campus incident or emergency, the communications team works diligently with the campus administration and provides information as necessary to parents and guardians. The safety of students, staff members, and guests is always the top priority. All information will be sent to district families in various ways, including:
The use of any Lamar CISD logo including campuses must be approved by the Communications Department. The District reserves the right to deny any request that fails to comply with any aspect of the Logo & Trademark Use Policy. Please allow up to (3) business days from the date the request is submitted to receive approval.
The Lamar CISD Communications Department coordinates and facilitates all district news coverage and is the official liaision between the campuses and the media. All media inquiries must be sent to the communications team. All inquiries should be submitted to Info@LCISD.org. Do not contact campuses directly as all inquiries are reviewed by the communications team.
Lamar CISD adopted a new form of school-to-home communication called ParentSquare. This unified communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with Lamar CISD. ParentSquare will be replacing the current School Messenger system.
ParentSquare provides a safe way for district administrators, school principals, teachers, staff, and parents to:
• Send and receive school and class information
• Share pictures and files
• See calendar items
• Sign up to volunteer
• Schedule parent-teacher conferences
